Health & Wellness
Medical Insurance
Mary Greeley Medical Center offers unique three-tier benefit design that provides you varied cost share levels based upon where you seek care. The plan includes prescription drug coverage, preventive care paid at 100% when received by a network provider and vision coverage. Dental Insurance
The dental plan provides coverage for preventive and diagnostic services, in addition to major restorative services and orthodontia. You may see any dentist you wish; however, Delta Dental’s unique dental network gives you more choices from a broader selection of dentists by utilizing either the PPO or Premier networks.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts allow you to set aside expenses pre-tax dollars toward healthcare and dependent care expenses throughout the year. This pre-tax deduction lowers your taxable income, reducing the amount of tax you owe on your bi-weekly paycheck.
Health Care FSA - reimburse yourself for IRS eligible health care out-of-pocket expenses for you and your tax dependents. Eligible expenses include medical, dental and vision expenses.
Dependent Care FSA - this program allows you pay for certain IRS qualified dependent daycare expenses for children up to age 13 or adult dependents that can’t care for themselves.
Income Protection & Life Insurance
Life Insurance / AD&D (Basic Plan)
Basic Life insurance equal to an employee’s annual base salary, rounded to the next higher $1,000.
Supplemental Life Insurance
Supplemental Life insurance is available for purchase by employees for additional life insurance for themselves and immediate qualified family members. Employees can elect coverage for themselves in increments of 1x, 2x or 3x your annual base salary. Spouse and Children coverage can be elected in the following amounts:
Option 1 – Spouse $20,000 Children $10,000
Option 2 – Spouse $10,000 Children $5,000
Option 3 – Spouse $5,000 Children $2,500
Short Term Disability (Core Plan)
This benefit will pay after seven days of continuous disability and for most team members will replace 50% of your regular weekly earnings, to a maximum of $500 per week, for up to 12 weeks.
Short Term Disability (Buy Up Plan)
Supplemental Short Term Disability is available for purchase to increase their total monthly benefit to 67% of their weekly earnings.
Long Term Disability
Eligible after expiration of short term disability. Disability benefit equals 60% of monthly pay reduced by any benefit received from Social Security or other income source.
Retirement
IPERS Retirement Plan
Employees are automatically enrolled in IPERS upon employment and before tax salary deferrals begin with employee’s first check. IPERS deferral rates are set by the Iowa Legislative Branch. Members become vested for IPERS retirement after seven years of covered employment.
457(b) Retirement Plan
Employees may also defer up to the IRS yearly maximum funds into a qualified 457(b) plan available through Mission Square. The plan has a diverse group of investment choices where earnings can be set aside either before tax or after tax (ROTH).
PTO
Paid time off (PTO) to be used for vacation, holidays, illness, or any other time needed off. PTO must be requested in advance and is subject to management approval to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained. PTO may be accessed following successful completion of a 90-day introductory period.
Holidays
The following 6 holidays are observed: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving day, and Christmas day. Holiday time is included in the PTO accrual rates.
Additional Paid Absences
- Bereavement Leave of up to 3 days for designated family members
- Paid Absence for duration of Jury Duty
- Up to 30 days per calendar year for Military Leave
- Emergency Leave available with supervisor’s approval and completion of 90 day introductory period.
- Up to one paid working day of leave for employees with defined immediate family members who are hospitalized due to life threatening injury/illness.

In partnership with our Foundation, Mary Greeley provides funds to support the cost of professional continuing education to maintain and grow knowledge or skills. We offer a wide range of learning and development opportunities, including internal curricula for leaders and employees, industry training, continuing education support, and more.
Tuition Reimbursement
Utilized for classes at accredited colleges, universities, technical schools and accredited on-line degree programs. Annual maximum tuition reimbursement allowances are based upon the degree being pursued and include:
- Associate Degree: $2,000
- Associate Degree in Nursing: $3,000
- Bachelor’s Degree $3,000
- Master’s Degree: $4,000
- Accelerated RN to BSN Program: $9,000/18 months (not to exceed $5,250/calendar year)
Student Loan Repayment Assistance
Provides a monthly payment to be applied to the loan principal. This payment is made directly to your personal Federal Student Loan servicing company. Only applies to one Federal student loan at a time. This program does not cover Federal Student loans that are to be paid by Parents, nor for loans of any family members that the employee is paying for.
