When possible, your surgeon may perform your procedure using robotic-assisted techniques. This means your surgeon will control a robotic surgical tool to make incisions and treat your health condition.
During your procedure, your surgeon sits at a console near the operating table. From there, your surgeon sees high-definition, 3D images of your body and controls robotic arms that make tiny movements with greater flexibility and precision than the human hand.
How You Benefit
Robotic-assisted surgery is minimally invasive because your doctor can perform your surgery through tiny incisions, usually only as wide as a dime. If you have robotic-assisted single-site surgery, which uses one small incision through the belly button, you’ll have a nearly invisible scar.
