Ear, Nose, and Throat Disorders

Some ENT disorders are common and straightforward—ear infections, for example. Others involve a more complex health care approach.

  • Ears: These include hearing disorders, ear infections, balance disorders, and facial nerve or cranial nerve disorders, as well as management of congenital (birth) and cancerous disorders of the outer and inner ear.
  • Nose: Nose disorders encompass the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, allergies, sense of smell, and nasal respiration (breathing).
  • Throat: Diseases of the larynx (voice box) and the upper aerodigestive tract or esophagus include disorders of the voice respiration (breathing and swallowing).
  • Head and neck: Infectious diseases, tumors (both benign and malignant/cancerous), facial trauma and deformities of the face may affect the head and neck.
