Dialysis

Any person who has to undergo long-term care for a potentially life-threatening condition knows the importance of state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained staff. Both of those things are the focus of the dialysis services offered at Dialysis Centers of Central Iowa, a joint venture of Mary Greeley Medical Center and DaVita.

Help for Your Kidneys

For patients with kidney or renal failure, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis cleans the blood. Hemodialysis passes it through an artificial kidney machine, while peritoneal dialysis is internal and utilizes a blood-cleansing solution, dialysate, in the peritoneal cavity, a region of the abdomen.

At the three Dialysis Centers of Central Iowa locations, patients have comfortable spaces to watch and rest, read, or talk. Your dedicated clinical team will be there to monitor your care and ensure that your treatment progresses smoothly.

Dialysis Services Staff and Locations

Community-oriented care is the focus for staff, including registered nurses, patient care technicians, registered dietitians, and social workers—at the Dialysis Centers of Central Iowa; many team members have over two decades of experience. In addition, nurses are on call 24 hours each day, and social workers assist with transportation, insurance, and patient needs. Dialysis is covered by private insurance or Medicare, even if a patient is under the required age to receive other Medicare benefits.
