Ways to Give
All gifts, in all forms, are important and we thank you for choosing to support the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation. There are many ways you can give to the medical center, including those listed below. Cash, Checks and Credit Cards
Outright cash gifts by check or credit card are the easiest gifts to make, and there are a variety of methods:
Memorial Gifts
Many of the gifts made to Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation are honorary and memorial gifts. You may choose to make a gift in memory of a loved one who received services from the medical center, or you may also make a gift in honor of someone who has made an impact on your life.
Bequests in your Will, and Other Planned Gifts
Gift planning allows you to align your charitable giving with your overall financial and estate plans. Some common methods are including Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation in your will, naming the medical center as beneficiary on your life insurance policy, and setting up charitable trusts that benefit both the medical center and the donor.
IRA Charitable Rollover
You may contribute part of your IRA funds to charity if:
- You are age 70 ½ or older at the time of the gift.
- You transfer any amount up to $100,000 directly from your IRA. This opportunity applies only to IRAs and not to other types of retirement plans.
- Your IRA administrator transfers the funds directly to one or more qualified charities. The legislation does not permit direct transfers to charitable trusts, donor advised funds, charitable gift annuities or supporting organizations.
In addition, the transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, allowing you to benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions. And if applicable, your IRA charitable rollover gift can also count toward your required minimum distribution for the year.

Stock
Gifts of appreciated stock may not only benefit Mary Greeley Medical Center, but provide you with tax benefits at the same time.

Endowments
When you create an endowment, you are providing permanent support to Mary Greeley Medical Center. Your donation is invested into a fund and managed by the medical center, and each year a distribution is made from the endowment to support the program or area of your choice.
Donor Advised Fund
If you are looking for an easy, cost-effective way to support the Mary Greeley Foundation and other causes you love, a donor advised fund, which is like a charitable savings account, may be the right choice for you. It involves transferring cash or other assets to a tax-exempt sponsoring organization such as a public foundation. You can then recommend, but not direct, how much and how often money is granted to the Mary Greeley Foundation or other charities. And, you can avoid the cost and complexities of managing a private foundation.
Sponsorship Program
Community leaders have the opportunity to directly impact the health and lives of thousands of people each year through their participation in the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation Sponsorship Program.
Matching Gifts
Matching gifts from your employer could double or even triple your donation to Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee charitable contributions. In most cases all you need to do is complete a form that is available through your employer and provide it to Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation with your contribution.
