Neurological Rehabilitation

People of all ages can develop neurological deficits due to illness or injury. These neurological problems can be mild or cause major concerns with movement abilities.

Neurological diagnoses that are commonly treated at Mary Greeley Medical Center include:

  • Stroke
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Brain injuries
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Post concussive disorders

At Mary Greeley Medical Center Rehab & Wellness, we have physical, occupational, and speech therapists who specialize in neurological conditions and help you improve your function.  Physical therapy will work with you to improve your skills in balance, gait, and movement of your weak leg(s) so you are safe to move about your home and community.  Occupational therapy will work with you on coordination of your weak arm(s), fine motor skills of your hand, and thinking abilities so you are able to perform daily living activities.  Speech therapy will work with you to improve your speech, reading, writing, and thinking abilities so you are able to communicate with your family and friends.  Speech therapy will also address any swallowing problems so you can safely eat.

Our neurological clinical specialist and other experienced members of our staff will provide a comprehensive examination to determine concerns, abilities, and deficit areas. Then, working with the client and family, the therapist will develop goals and a treatment plan to address individual concerns. Our facility offers several treatment options, including the Neurocom Balance Master, Interactive Metronome, an anti-gravity treadmill, and warm water therapy pool.
