Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram, or “echo” for short, uses sound waves to create a moving picture of the heart’s thickness, size, function, as well as the motion pattern and structure of the heart’s four valves. Physicians use this information to detect heart abnormalities. An echo test can sometimes be used with an electrocardiogram.
Echocardiogram Laboratory
Mary Greeley Medical Center uses advanced technologies in our Echocardiogram Laboratory, or Echo Lab. Our echo technology produces very high-quality digital images, which are sent to a digital network and then interpreted by a cardiologist. Mary Greeley Medical Center is one of the few hospitals in the state to have this level of technology.
