Mary Greeley Makes IRPE History With Second Honor
AMES, IA -- Mary Greeley Medical Center has again been recognized as a Gold recipient by the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence (IRPE) and the Iowa Quality Center.
Mary Greely is the first two-time Gold recipient in the IRPE program. The medical center was also honored as a Gold recipient in 2014.
“We are incredibly proud to be the only organization in Iowa to achieve this level of recognition from IPRE twice,” said Brian Dieter, president and CEO of Mary Greeley. “We are committed to providing outstanding patient care for central Iowans every day. Receiving this level of recognition a second time stands as proof of the consistency of our commitment, and to the amazing dedication of our staff.”
Karen Kiel Rosser, vice president and quality improvement officer at Mary Greeley, also credited the work of hospital staff.
“The IRPE process truly involves everyone at the hospital. To receive this level of recognition twice affirms how superior our staff are at demonstrating how they improve their work processes, and how they sustain those improvements every day to benefit the patients we serve,” she said.
IRPE is Iowa’s National Baldrige-based program designed to recognize role model organizations in education, manufacturing, nonprofit, healthcare and business.
“The purpose of the state of Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence process is to recognize role model organizations that complete a rigorous organizational assessment leading to sustainability and maintaining a future focus on performance excellence,” said IRPE Executive Director Gary Nesteby. “The leadership in these businesses and organizations has made a commitment to attaining higher levels of performance by receiving feedback from volunteer examiners willing to spend over 140 hours of assessment time to help build quality and competitiveness in Iowa-based organizations.”
Mary Greeley will be recognized at The Governor’s Celebration of Excellence on March 29, 2018 at the Meadows Conference Center in Altoona.
